Chang Eung-Bok in Residence. 장응복의 레지던스

디자이너 장응복은 복합문화예술공간인 ‘통의동 보안여관’에서 ‘Softerior’라는 그 만의 독창적인 인테리어 방식으로 시공간에 창조적 변화를 가한다. 2004년까지 여관으로 사용되었던 보안여관의 1, 2층 전시 공간에 침실, 식당, 리셉션, 옥외 카페 등 호텔의 역할과 기능을 재현하고, 근대와 현대의 시공간을 넘나드는 감성과 에너지를 불러 일으킨다.

소프테리어 Softerior는 실용적인 아름다움, 전통과 현대를 조화롭게 융합한 이상적 형상을 제시하는 컨셉이며, 다양한 텍스타일, 컬러, 패턴, 질감과 스토리텔링으로 에너지가 살아 숨쉬는 공간을 추구하는 인테리어 개념이다.

이번 전시 “장응복의 레지던스”는 감성과 문화를 생산하고 영위하는 공적 공간으로 호텔의 기능(숙박, 라운지, 카페, 상점 등)에서 확장된 치유와 휴식의 감성적 공간을 제시하고 선보인다. 전시 기간 중에는 ‘모노콜렉션’의 제품이 판매되는 상점과 전통 후식 문화의 대중화에 앞장서는 ‘동병상련’의 옥외 카페 등 흥미로운 프리젠테이션도 함께 펼쳐진다.

The SoftInterior concept is a vision that fuses the practical and elegant, thetraditional and contemporary. Through the interactions of different textiles,colors, patterns, surfaces, symbols and narratives, an interior becomesanimated with Ch’ienergy.

The residencyalso includes a shop where it is possible to purchase Mono Collectionmerchandise, and as a special feature, includes a presentation of Mono Collection’sdelightful products designed for the traditional ‘1st Year Birthday’celebration, indicating that a hotel is more than just a place to stay thenight.
